As a non-profit, charitable, health care organization, Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital has a responsibility to our patients and the community we serve to conduct our business and patient care operations in a consistent, ethical manner.
Patients at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital are entitled to specific rights regarding their care. We recognize, respect and protect the rights, duties and privileges of all individuals, and provide avenues to address and resolve differences whenever they arise.
Patients at our hospital are also encouraged to express their wishes through Advance Directives. The "Medical Power of Attorney" enables you to name another person as your agent to make health care decisions, should a time come when you are unable to communicate your wishes. The "Directive to Physicians and Family" allows you to document your decisions about the kind of care you desire when your death is imminent. These legal documents do not need to be notarized to be valid.
